Job title : Community Engagement Specialist - Construction

Location : Portland, Oregon

Duration : 12 months contract W2

Work Hours :8am – 5pm

Pay Rate : $50/Hr.

Job Description

Mavensoft is seeking a Construction Project Community Engagement Specialist for a 1-year contract in Portland, Oregon. This role is not your typical communication position; it requires strong construction experience and the ability to effectively communicate project execution, schedules, kick-offs, and tests. The ideal candidate will work closely with corporate communication, handling project management tasks and serving as the point of contact for community engagement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Issue letters and communications to the community and stakeholders regarding construction start dates and updates.
  • Conduct surveys after construction completion to gather feedback.
  • Manage escalated issues and requests from homeowners' associations (HOAs), ensuring that communication materials are approved by corporate communication.
  • Understand project scope from the perspectives of the public and government agencies.
  • Drive and conduct DMV checks, as required.
  • Work primarily from home with occasional site visits to construction areas or for escalated stakeholder issues.
  • Communicate effectively about construction impacts, such as tree removal or road closures, to customers.
  • Coordinate with legal and corporate departments to develop and present presentations for stakeholder communication.
  • Area of Coverage: Client service area, with a focus on Hillsboro, Sandy, and Mount Hood areas.

Qualifications :

  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in construction-related communications, public affairs, or media relations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of construction and its impact on customers.
  • Ability to communicate construction-related information in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Experience in project coordination, with a focus on customer escalations.
  • Client-facing experience is essential for this role.


Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, writing, marketing, or similar field. Candidates with relevant experience and exceptional skills will also be considered.
