The Industrial Electrician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to ensure the continuous and safe operations of the particleboard manufacturing plant. This includes work on motors, controls, PLCs, drives, and other electrical components essential to production and facility infrastructure.
Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, transformers, relays, circuit breakers, and VFDs.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical problems with machinery, systems, and processes.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documents.
Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on electrical systems and equipment.
Work with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) including troubleshooting, programming, and modifications.
Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company policies.
Collaborate with mechanical maintenance, production, and engineering teams to support uptime and efficiency.
Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including maintenance logs and equipment records.
Participate in root cause analysis for equipment failures and propose long-term solutions.
Respond to emergency breakdowns during regular hours or on-call rotation.
High school diploma or GED required; technical diploma or associate degree in industrial electricity or related field preferred.
Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license (as required by state or local jurisdiction).
Minimum 3–5 years of industrial electrical experience, preferably in a wood products or continuous process manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of 480V 3-phase power, control systems, and instrumentation.
Experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs, VFDs, and HMI systems is highly desirable.
Understanding of NFPA 70E, NEC, and OSHA electrical safety standards.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in elevated areas or confined spaces.
