Job Description

Overview:
As a Coder, you'll play a crucial role in our team, performing data entry processing and applying diagnostic and procedural codes to patient health information. Your work ensures accurate data retrieval, analysis, and claims processing, ultimately supporting our commitment to providing quality healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities:

Coding and Data Entry: Assign appropriate diagnostic and procedural codes to patient health information documents under general supervision.

Issue Resolution: Research and resolve coding issues, collaborating with cross-divisional teams and vendors when necessary. Escalate complex issues to supervisors for resolution.

Quality Reporting: Administer physician quality reporting initiative (PQRI) data to report quality measures, contributing to maximizing incentive payments during billing.

Reporting and Collaboration: Generate and distribute reports for management review regularly. Work collaboratively with cross-divisional teams to achieve shared goals within established timelines.

Project Assistance: Assist in various projects as assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in task management.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma required. AAPC or AHIMA Certification preferred.

Experience: 0 - 1 year's related experience. Familiarity with governmental rules and regulations affecting billing and coding processes is advantageous.

Skills:

Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications.
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
Effective time management abilities, capable of handling concurrent priorities.
Strong interpersonal skills, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Positive, enthusiastic, and energetic attitude.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for effective interaction with all levels of management.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 25 pounds may be required.
