Job Title: Quality Manager in Manufacturing
The Quality Manager in Manufacturing is responsible for overseeing tank and enclosure quality assurance. This role involves developing, maintaining, and improving quality systems while coaching, leading, and influencing the quality culture to consistently deliver the highest quality products. The position includes monitoring production operations, auditing, and analyzing process outputs to enhance efficiency across the company.
Responsibilities for Quality Manager in Manufacturing
Lead all quality and continuous improvement efforts.
Guide workgroups to resolve quality issues.
Develop and manage the quality team.
Serve as the primary owner of tank and enclosure quality systems and programs.
Represent the company during site audits for various regulatory agencies and customers.
Lead and participate in business-level quality initiatives.
Collaborate closely with the production team and customers to achieve optimal solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Manage and lead the customer complaint process.
Perform system analyses, establish, and monitor quality indicators.
Participate in the prevention and resolution of quality issues through technical contributions and team management.
Review the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Establish leading and lagging quality KPIs and develop Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) metrics.
Drive improvements in standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of manufacturing, assembly, and integration.
Work with the operations team to enhance welding processes where certified welding is required.
Establish monthly customer conference calls to address quality and field service issues.
Requirements for Quality Manager in Manufacturing
Bachelor's degree required; a degree in a technical field preferred.
10+ years of quality-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership abilities in managing teams.
Ability to work independently.
Previous management experience in quality assurance.
Extensive knowledge and experience with quality systems and tools.
Strong analytical skills and knowledge of analytical processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
Reliable, organized, detail-oriented, and able to perform at a high level in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
