Your role and responsibilities Conduct literature survey and benchmarking to assess the state of art methods for a given problem Take part in the development of computer algorithms in perception, planning and control to enable creation of future autonomous robotics Debug, test and validate core algorithms in a mockup or full blown setup Generate intellectual property and writing scientific publications Excellent skills in supporting technological change by fast learning Demonstrate use of creativity and innovation in creating new technology and solutions
Qualifications for the role - Currently enrolled in a degree program in the US (United States)
- PhD or master's student in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (PhD preferred)
- Strong background in deep neural networks for computer vision
- Experience with object segmentation, object detection and 6D pose estimation
- Experience with 3D point cloud processing using traditional and deep learning techniques
- Proficient in Python and C++
- Proficient in PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV and Open3D
- Experience with ROS, PCL, Blender, Unity and Nvidia Isaac is a plus
- Knowledge of robotics in general, robot kinematics, motion planning, grasping and SLAM in particular is a plus
- Knowledge of deep reinforcement learning is a plus
- Must be currently authorized to work for ABB in the US
